Checklist for new releases

Pre-Release

  1. Bump version inside the pyproject.toml file.
  2. Update CHANGELOG.md: Convert unreleased section into version section with date and new unreleasedsection.
  3. Run auto-formatter with black .
  4. Run linter with ruff .

Post-Release

  1. Create new release on EGit based on the release branch. This also creates a tag.
